History
Dice Night was started by Dakota Rodgers with a multitude of different games at Pipe Down Tobacco Shop with the love of chance and the fun of gambling, after Dakota realised most of the games he was trying to host often were less luck based and didn't earn much money. He wanted to switch to a pure game of chance and equal luck making it less about business and just more about fun. He had gotten the idea of Devil's Dice from the River City Devil's Dice games that always happened before storms. Sane and Dakota decided to make it a joint effort and started hosting the games at Hardcore Comic Store and attempted to make it a weekly event.
Things started out small with just a handful of people but consistently every Monday night there they were hosting and posting ads for Dice Night. They knew that if they made it a constant event that people knew they could count on as something to do, somewhere to go, and somewhere to socialize while enjoying the luck of gambling that our numbers would grow. The games became such a popularity that some nights they had upwards of 40 people and had to split into two tables of games.
Long Term Effect(s)
This event has built a long lasting bond of community, dice night has always been a neutral event where anyone and everyone could come together to lose their money to Dakota's curses. Sane and Dakota started a consistant event that to this day even when they aren't able to make it or host, it continues on with the now weekly regulars. The doors are always open for people to come play everyday Monday night and the event will continue to live on for as long as they can make it. For some its about the thrill of potentially winning a lot of money, for some its about a place to come every week to meet new people, for some its a spot to come and socialize.
