Gerhard was born in Regensburg, Germany, where his parents have a summer home. Shortly after Gerhard was born, his family moved to the United States, specifically Michigan. He lived in Michigan for 10 years when his family moved to New York. He grew to love police and wanted to become a police officer in New York after he graduated college. Gerhard went to the University of Maryland where he attained a Bachelor's degree in Criminal Justice. Unfortunately, due to a car accident while in college, he ended up with a severely injured back. An injury that would cost him his dreams of becoming a police officer. Since Gerhard knew he could not follow his dreams, he did what he considered the second best thing. He went to Yale, where he studied Constitutional Law. He graduated at the top of his class, summa cum laude. He then went back to New York to look for a job at the District Attorney's office. At the time, they were only looking for people with experience to become Assistant DAs. He went to work for a corporation as a lawyer for them. He loved the amount of money that he was pulling in per paycheck, but it was not what he wanted to do. He went back to the DA's office asking if he could become an ADA, and they hired him. He worked at the DA's office for a few years until he finally got pushed out by the DA because he disagreed with him. Gerhard realized that he had no business left in New York, as he was shut out from almost every job due to the DA speaking with his friends, telling them to keep Gerhard out of their offices.
Once Gerhard arrived in San Andreas, he immediately started looking for a job. He was tired of arguing with people, and he decided that he would become a judge. He took a pledge to ensure that justice was carried out properly, and without interference. Once Gerhard was hired on the San Andreas Judiciary as a Circuit Judge, he immediately began to work. He now lives happily in San Andreas, carrying out justice, ensuring that the justice system is working properly and efficiently.
