Jerry "JJ" Jones was born and raised in Fort Worth, TX and he remains a Texas boy through and through. His mother and father were normal, church-going folks with stable jobs, who loved each other just as much as they loved their children. Jerry was the 2nd oldest son so the middle child stereotypes could be applied. He mostly stayed under the radar but was never unappreciated by his family. He was and is still considered an old soul who would mostly tell it like it was when truths needed telling. His father lost his life to cancer when JJ was a teenager and it challenged his faith but what never left him was the lesson his parents taught him. Unconditional love and loyalty.
As he grew into adulthood, his interest in travel and his desire to wander overcame him so he took a job as a long-haul truck driver that took him across Texas and the surrounding states. What started out as a legal and lucrative way to make money, also provided an opportunity to make even more by transporting drugs from Mexico to various drop-off points in the South. One drop-off went bad and the group that supplied the drugs got angry. JJ feared retribution against his family if he stuck around Fort Worth so he took off to try and let things settle. He found himself in a new city where he tried to figure out his next step before heading home but instead found himself making friends with several people including a member of a local MC called the Vipers. She saw potential in JJ and invited him to prospect where he used the tools his parents and family back home taught him to show his newfound family true loyalty and unconditional love. After 3 long months, he earned his patch and decided to make a new life.
Not only had JJ found a new purpose, but he also found himself in love with a girl named Larkin. She stood by his side when it mattered the most and helped him through what was to come. The Vipers faced many challenges in the coming months and years including rival MC wars, conflicts with police, a chapter split, and a civil war. After several members lost their lives, the remaining members picked up what wasn't broken and returned to their mother chapter's birthplace, El Paso, TX. Picking up the pieces proved to be harder than they thought so many spread out across the states to lick wounds and heal hearts. JJ's need to wander also pulled at him so Larkin decided to bring him back to her neck of the woods. They spent several months in the NW states and parts of Canada, going as far as a tank of gas would take them, only to find work to fill the tank once more and set out on the road.
Recently, a few of his old family members reached out to JJ, telling him there are potential opportunities in a new city. His desire to reconnect along with his need to potentially set down roots has brought him coming, where maybe he can impart some more old soul wisdom along with teaching a few new faces the lessons his parents and found family taught him a long time ago.
