Summary

Open Mic Night is a night for people to share their talents. This can be performing songs they have written or covered, playing instruments, sharing a new set, telling jokes, reading poems, or even story time. Any type of talent is welcomed. To make the event more fun, a theme gets added each week. These have varied from white outs, emo night, singing in the rain, cosplay, etc. This just adds the ability for people to dress up or perform something a little different.

History

Open Mic Night originally started at Craft Bar. It was something that was done every week and people seemed to enjoy it. It was started to give an outlet for artists/DJs to be able to perform at their own will versus for an event. It also allowed new artists to be noticed by a label.

Long Term Effect(s)

Open Mic Night is a consistent event that now happens every other week. It continues to help keep the music scene alive, bring people from all walks of life together, and even a smaller stage for new upcoming artist to feel comfortable to perform. We work with local labels to let them know of artists we see come through so they can talk to them. It also brings business to Black Hawk Coffee. We continue to see that events help provide experiences for people to enjoy around Los Santos.
