The Changretta Crime Family is a new-generation, Italian-American organized crime syndicate based out of Los Santos, San Andreas. While the family is run by Italians and harbors many Italian traditions and values, it is not only for people of Italian descent, and people of any ethnic background can join and do jobs for the Family. The crew is run comparably to the Sicilian style of "Mafia" known as La Cosa Nostra, and with that comes a veil of secrecy to the outside world regarding the family's true dealings. All members, Made or not, will deny the existence of the Family at any opportunity and prefer to operate under a veil of obscurity to dissuade opponents and authorities.

What is known about the family is that they're involved in a multitude of sectors, both legal and illegal, but carry the Sicilian values of staying away from hard drugs, both in consumption and distribution. The Family is very tight-knit, and Made Men especially are seen as near-blood members of the Changretta Family. The Family also intends to bring more Italian culture to San Andreas and prefers to conduct illegal business professionally, having a staunch distaste for street gangs and unorganized crews of criminals.

Recruitment

Recruitment for the family is done In-Character, but we're happy to answer any OOC questions through E-mail. To get involved with the family, you've gotta run into someone who can make things happen for you. Getting friendly with members who run Businesses or rackets are a good way to go about getting work. You'll start with small, tedious jobs. Later, as you become more trusted by not only your direct boss, but the Boss himself, you'll be trusted with more sensitive jobs, and may be offered an official spot on the crew of a Caporegime.

As you continue to prove yourself a capable wiseguy, you may be proposed to become Made. Becoming Made is one of the highest honors someone in The Life can achieve, and solidifies you as an official, near-blood member of the family. This puts you in a position to take leadership roles such as Caporegime, and be trusted with the deepest secrets of the family.

The leader, Johnathan Changretta, is no stranger to the Mafia lifestyle (referred to as 'The Life'), and in 2022 created the Changretta Family with the help of his uncle Nicolas "Fat Niccy" Pagano and cousin Riccardo "Bambino" Fiori. The 3 are impartial to whatever it may take to grow the family and have all had their own separate encounters and experiences in the Wiseguy life, Johnny Being the son of a Las Vegas Caporegime in the Gambino Crime Family, Nicolas being introduced into the life at 16 and having the most combined experience in Mobs, and Riccardo having been the son of a prominent Underboss in New York, Luca Fiori under the Fiori Crime Family. All 3 of these men have been subservient to other people their entire careers, and when the prospect of being at the helm of their own crew was shown, they all jumped at the chance.
