MLO & Interiors Guide


So you're licensed with the Department of Commerce & Labor, and now you're thinking about opening up a space to run your club/business?

Here at NewDay RP, we have a bustling and incredible business community, and our development team work extremely hard to create customised content to support every aspect of this. With our community at the heart of our decison making, we take great care for our players to maintain server performance, balance and equal opportunties to access this content. That being said, let's dig into our rules and guidelines around interiors & MLO content.

Can I Have An Interior?

Utilizing space for a business or club can add an extra level to our roleplay. When looking to open up an interior for a space, please keep these things in mind:
​

1. We only allow one MLO or interior per player.

Each individual player may only have one MLO or base game interior across all their characters. We can only add so much to the server, and want each of our players to have the same opportunity to expand their main business/club interest.
If you have an MLO or interior already, you may explore other options, such as office spaces and premises with external yardwork to fit your needs.
The Vespucci Beach Shacks and Business Shells do count as an interior but are great options for getting your business off the ground!

2. What type of space does your business/club need?

Having big dreams is never a bad thing, but please do consider using current available spaces to suit your needs:

- Offices spaces are readily available to rent, can have signage customised with the help of a realtor, and do not require additional premises fees. You can have your clockin added to offices, and use these already decorated areas to run our businesses with no fuss.


- Vespucci Beach Shacks are available for start up businesses, small hubs for your new endeavour and offer a great customisable space through Kraut & Sons. Please contact DoCL if you're interested in one of these, as they can be licensed right off the bat!

- Kraut & Sons can often provide an exterior setup on your premises to give your business everything it needs to operate with yardwork additions. Business systems can also be added to these, and Kraut & Sons can advise on the best ways to add props to maximise your business needs and potential.

- Business Shells offer a blank slate space that can be easily decorated by the business owner & employees, with endless positionbilities to suit your needs! Shells offer a performance option for your interior. These will be teleport entry, and you will be able to purchase furniture and business items in order to place these inside your business shell. These are accessible via Tech & Sons Architect firm.

- Tech & Sons Architect firm often advertise a selection of available interiors on their website, which can be applied for with a regular Premises License application and are ready to go (licensing for these available spaces is at the discretion of DoCL).

3. How long have you been running?

- Office space can be rented immediately.

- Vespucci Beach Shacks can be licensed immediately, following DoCL's standard licensing time frames.

- Kraut & Sons Yardwork can provide exterior work to businesses immediately once licensed.

- Business Shells require a minimum of 1 MONTH active premises license and consistent business activity to qualify.

- Available Interiors option MLO interiors can be leased immediately, following DoCL's standard licensing time frames.

- Regular MLO applications require 3 MONTHS of consistent activity to qualify.

So, I've Looked At Everything And I Think I'd Like An MLO?

After weighing up all the options, you think an MLO is the best route for you, but what do you need to know when looking?
​

- You will need to find an interior that works for you.
Due to the large number of requests, the development team cannot facilitate making something from scratch for you.

- Never purchase anything yourself.
NewDay RP has a purchasing process that we must adhere to make sure all licenses to use custom work are in check. The team will walk you through this once they are ready. Just keep video & website links for the interior you'd like on hand.

- Always consider the sizes of the interior you're looking for. Extra space, means extra strain. Try to have space that will get constant use.

I Think I'd Like To Go Custom?
Choosing to have a custom MLO created is absolutely fine. While our in house team cannot do this for you, there are plenty of creators out there who can. Do some research and find one you would like to make your space for you.​

- Do you need all that space?
As above, please be considerate of the space you're looking to open up. If you won't use it constantly, it's probably not needed.

- You may pay them yourself, but please retain written confirmation that NewDayRP will retain the license to the work and can use it on our server.
The development and staff team will need this in order to implement the work to our server. You can provide this in the form of a screenshot with full context from the creator of your interior, or as a .txt within the MLO files themselves.

We’re glad you asked!
We know you all have no less than 5,283 email chains to manage, which is why we’re operating face-to-face by Appointment Only at our office in Rockford.
This guarantees we’re giving ample attention to understanding your needs while ensuring we’re not taking on more projects than we can handle at any one time.
You can visit our website to schedule a time that works best for you!
Entering a valid IRL email at the time of booking will provide you with appointment reminders.
You can also find an up to date listing of our pricing (subject to change and is at the discretion of Tech and Sons).

Before scheduling an appointment, please be sure you understand the following:​

- Do NOT purchase blueprints (MLOs) without consulting us. There is a process in place for this so that the city maintains proper licensing and permits for its use. - Avoid opening a ‘Government Ticket’. We know you have questions, but that’s why we’re here to help! Once we’ve had our initial consultation, we can open a ticket with you to facilitate things like blueprint purchasing - Not every construction project will be suitable for the city. We will conduct a Neighborhood Impact Survey for each project that ensures the surrounding area can handle the additional traffic and resources afforded to the project. - Remember, construction isn't necessary to conduct business. We expect businesses requesting construction to be active and operational for a reasonable amount of time but we encourage you to be creative! Does your restaurant have a nice patio? Talk to Kraut and Sons about sprucing it up with some lovely yardwork. - You MUST have a current and active business and premises license to begin construction.​
