Kristina Kane was born and raised in Wood River, Nebraska, graduated from Wood River Rural High School in 2009, graduated from University of Nebraska Medical Center with a dual-degree MD-MPH ( Doctor of Medicine/Master of Public Health) in 2016, experience working at Pillbox Medical Centers in other locations as Medical Director, Assistant Medical Director, Doctor, and Paramedic.
Kristina Kane was born on November 14th, 1990 to a loving family that lived in Rural Nebraska. Her father was a day laborer that shifted focus throughout her life, but mainly focusing on areas of hard labor such as construction, demolition, logging, and plumbing among other odd jobs to support his family. Her mother maintained a steady position as a part time postal carrier throughout her childhood. Kristina grew up as an only child surrounded by well meaning but redneck neighbors that helped re-enforce her accent she has today.
Kristina's path to the medical field actually began when she was seven, when her father had an unexpected heart attack. Fortunately for the family, it was a minor episode that had very little effect on his way of life going forward, and had the effect of fascinating Kristina. After her mother called the paramedics, she attempted to shield Kristina from her father's episode, fearing Kristina would be scarred or grow a fear, but Kristina instead wriggled away and watched in wonder as the paramedics worked on her father. From that day forward, she vowed to do everything she could to help others by working in medicine.
As she grew up, her family and neighbors encouraged her dream, they all knew that if fostered, she would be destined for better than the small rural town she was born into. While she wasn't, and still isn't, the most intelligent, she is very determined, as well as a fast learned and retains information well. She didn't excel in school (C's get degrees, of course), but continued throughout high school to study medical knowledge to prepare for College. She graduated mid tier of her class in 2009. While she was never an exceptional student, her friends and neighbors did trust her with basic medical information, sometimes asking her to check them over instead of a local physician to save money (they understood if they needed an actual prescription they had to go to a real doctor, but no need to pay someone else to tell you that you have a cold.)
Kristina took a year off after high school after being wait listed for the University of Nebraska, keeping up with medical knowledge and discovering herself as time went on. In high school, she never attempted to date much, so she threw herself into the dating scene, and very quickly learned that the males in her area were not just unattractive to her, they repulsed her quite a bit. She took a long, hard look at herself and realized they weren't the only problem, she actually just preferred the company of women. She tested the theory by going to bars and deciding on a woman she wanted to try dating. They were together for four months and while their relationship wasn't always the healthiest, it cemented in her mind that she was, in fact, lesbian. She never looked back in the general direction of dating men.
Kristina works as a supervisor of the Psych department of Eclipse Medical Center, and is Head of Parsons Rehabilitation Center.
Kristina's first engaged partner Maureen McKinley returned to the city as Morgan McKinley, and they continued their engagement, culminating in a small wedding under the Hardcore Comics Sign at the end of 1.0.
