Cassidy Bates was born into a poor and struggling family in Namyangju-si, South Korea. His parents were constantly working and whatever money they made went into keeping them afloat. At the time he hated his family, he never saw them or get to have time to spend with them. To escape his mental struggles at home, he spent most of his time at a local motorcycle repair shop, tucked away in the city. The owner and workers never seemed to mind. They eventually started teaching him, giving him meals when needed, and taking care of him in a way his parents never did. He became obsessed with motorcycles and helped the shop when new orders came in, trying to get an understanding of it.

At 12 years old, Cassidy ran away from home, securing a way to America through people who asked few questions as long as he had the money, which he tucked away from his work at the repair shop. When he got to America, the situation only got worse, years of instability. Cassidy bounced around shelters, foster homes, temporary families, and being homeless on the streets. He stayed quiet, not bringing attention to himself, and survived. When Cassidy turned 16, he began working under the table at bike and repair shops, making money the only way he knew how. His skills bought the attention of underground street racing organizations and he became quickly enveloped into their lifestyle and culture.

At 21, Cassidy relocated to Los Santos, the chaotic nature of the city suited Cassidy and he planned to thrive. He quickly secured a job at Cooks Automotive and was introduced to the local racing scene, joining the organization "249" under the Alias "Dokkaebi". He spent a decent amount of time doing this before meeting Marcus Ward, who proposed an offer he couldn't refuse. Together, alongside Juni Peters and Cameron Avery-Soap, they formed the Criminal Organization known as "Cypress Bravos", turning a small group of people in what would be one of the most recognizable and notable gangs in Los Santos.

Now, at 23, Cassidy owns the Tattoo Shop "Evil By The Needle". A legitimate business and hangout spot for the Cypress Bravos. The shop reflects on his roots and his love for his homeland. Even now, part of him is that lonely little boy sleeping in the back of a repair shop, trying to find where he belongs.

Cassidy will do anything to protect his family and the ones he loves. He is fiercely loyal and very hardheaded. Nothing will stop him from completing a goal once he sets his eyes on his target.
