    Biography:

    Early Life
    After her parents’ murder, Catherine was taken in by her grandparents while child services searched for a foster family capable of keeping up with her high-spirited, fast-paced nature. Though her childhood was fractured, her optimism never faded. Her grandparents instilled in her a sense of purpose — that kindness could be just as powerful as strength.
    When she turned eighteen, Catherine joined the LSPD as a cadet. Her determination and empathy quickly caught the attention of her mentors, Samuel Raider and Helena Cassidy-Wren, who took her under his wing and helped shape her into the detective she would become.
    A Briefly Ill-Advised Marriage
    Somewhere between her cadet days and her eventual adoption by the Smiths, Catherine met Evan Williams — a charming yet somewhat aimless man who matched her chaotic energy in all the wrong ways. The two got married in what was supposed to be a “mutually beneficial” arrangement — one that unintentionally turned into tax fraud.
    Neither of them quite understood what they were doing (or what they’d done) until much later. Realizing their accidental crime, they quickly divorced to straighten things out. In true Catherine fashion, they later got engaged again, convinced it would “work this time,” only to split a week later once they fully grasped how bad tax fraud actually was. Despite the comedic disaster of it all, they remained on friendly terms.
    Adoption & Found Family
    During her early years in the department, Catherine met Lena and Dan Smith, two officers who shared her last name purely by coincidence — or perhaps fate. The bond they formed went far beyond professional respect. The Smiths took her in and eventually adopted her, giving her the family she had lost so many years ago.
    Relationships & Personal Life
    Through the force, Catherine met Echo Manco, a fiery and sharp-witted firefighter who instantly caught her attention. Their connection was natural, their chemistry undeniable — until Echo discovered Catherine was the adopted daughter of Lena Smith, the woman Echo once loved. The revelation shattered their growing closeness, and Echo abruptly distanced herself, leaving Catherine heartbroken and confused.
    As her world began to fracture again, Catherine turned to her adoptive parents for support — only to watch their marriage collapse. Lena’s lingering love for Echo drove a wedge through the family, leaving Dan devastated and Catherine torn. In the aftermath, Lena’s choices led to her own downfall and eventual death, a loss that left Catherine clinging to the two things she’s ever known: the job and her father.
    About a Year Ago
    Isabella Catherine Smith had joined Vice City PD. Partly due to her father being Chief, partly because she had a crush on one of the captains. It was love at first sight for her.
    She eventually ended up asking said Captain on a date after reaching the rank of Corporal. That Captain was her boyfriend Corbin Everdon.
    Two months passed and in a shootout they made eye contact, both realising the same thing. That this relationship wasn’t healthy for the pair of them. Not until they were both fully healed.
    Present
    After enough convincing, Dan Smith insisted that Catherine moved with him to Los Santos as a fresh start for her. But something nagged at Catherine. He had no real inscentive to move back, but she didn't question it. When she moved over she met Kinsey Stardust a woman who too had moved over from a different city. Catherine yet again, fell in love with her at first sight.
    And This is where Catherine stands now. Being New to the city. Secretly in love with someone who she classes as a good friend.
