Ginny Swan was the second born to Alessa and Douglas, better known as Doug, Swan, with Lincoln born four years prior; Alessa worked as a detective within the Vice Police Department, and Doug was a beat cop, not wanting the pressure of more expectations, or even longer hours as Alessa was often called away in the middle of the night to investigate a murder, or some other nonsense that was quite typical of Florida. Life was hectic, but happy for the Swan family, and Alessa and Doug did their best by their two children, always making time for school plays, or to read to them at night; Douglas and Alessa spun exciting tales out of their work life, telling their children at length about it all, and it was something that stuck with Ginny, and was all the encouragement she needed to pursue it as she graduated high school, and went into college. She enrolled in Criminal Justice classes, and excelled, managing to keep her focus entirely on her classes and work, wanting nothing more than to leave college and join the force.
However, shortly after graduating from college Ginny was in an awful wreck on her way home.
The wreck was life altering, and Ginny spent months and months in the hospital, and when she was finally released, she was required to undergo extensive physical therapy to learn how to walk and regain muscle mass after lying in bed for so long. The wreck had affected her health overall, including her mental health, and Ginny had to get therapy to work through her fear of cars, and the belief that she would relive the accident. It was only once she could walk, and run, without difficulty that Ginny decided it was time for a change and with her families blessing she loaded herself onto a play and moved to Los Santos. Shortly after settling in Los Santos, she applied to the police force.
