Helena Cassidy-Wren, Born 'Maébh Helena O'Donnell', is a 35-year old trainwreck.

She is headstrong, passionate, stubborn and overly emotional. Her father left when she was 3, so she grew up with her Mother (hence why she changed her last name to her Mother's maiden name) and grandmother. It was a humble, typically middle-class upbringing. Helena's fathers side is Irish, her mother half-Irish. So her opinions, actions and voice are all influenced by growing up with an Irish-Catholic presence around her. Born and raised in San Andreas, she went to LSU to get her bachelors in criminal psychology.

Soon after she worked for the FIB, as a behavioral scientist. Working for the BAU-4, on the worst kind of murders and serial killers. During her work she studied part time to get her MD in Clinical Pathology + Psychiatry. Some harrowing stuff happened with a certain case that lead Helena to flee from her work and Virginia back to San Andreas. She felt she failed and eventually went back to her studies. She got her PhD in Forensic Science and Psychiatry in Criminal Justice. Since then she has been working for the state's health department for nearly four years. Originally as an ER doctor, eventually working to be a forensic psychiatrist, wanting to help those before it's too late. She grew to be the director of psychology and managed a lot of difficult criminal cases, often being forced to fight against what other departments wanted for a person. She took a couple months break from medical and worked temporarily for the Judiciary.

She returned to medical in April 2024 and is now the head of the Department of Health. Helena has a difficult relationship with her work-life balance and never knows how to draw the line personally. She is engrossed in everything her department does and will do anything to make sure her staff feel safe and welcomed. Working for so long alone in a lab, Helena does struggle to be in such an extroverted role sometimes, but her family keep her from falling too far from her true self.

Amongst all of her ups and downs in medical and her break away from it was, her now husband, Teddy. Helena has struggled with committing to anything properly all her life, the only thing she felt had stability was her work. Teddy and Helena joined medical back in May 2022, around the same time. They passed each other in the hustle of the ER but found solace on the roof of Zonah, having a chance to be vulnerable with each other. Teddy worked for what Helena thought was too long to break down her walls and get to know her beneath the mask the wore around the hospital. There was some hiccups, Helena's impulsivity and desire to self-destruct got in the way of their relationship sometimes, but Teddy never gave up on her. They got married in February 2023 and since then, Helena has had everything she wanted and more. Her desire to isolate and run away still returns sometimes, but Teddy know when to give her the space she needs to move through those feelings, he doesn't suffocate her and for that, Helena is forever grateful.
