Jade Tugelbend, born Jade St. James, grew up in the small seaside town of Port Arthur, Texas. Jade was brought up by her mother, Patricia Dawson, a small-town waitress who had a history of alcoholism and forming relationships with abusive men.
Jade spent most of her adolescence moving from town to town across the country chasing whatever man her mother was trying to marry next. At 15, her mother wed her third husband Mark. Mark would constantly threaten to kill them and always kept his gun around to instill obedience. One day when Jade came home from school, she found her mother beaten nearly to death on the couch, Mark standing over her with his hands around her neck. Jade saw his gun on the table, grabbed it, and began shooting Mark multiple times to the chest killing him. She spent the next 6 months under psychiatric review but did not serve any jail time pleading self-defense.
At 16, running away from the problems they had just faced, they had settled in a small town in Massachusetts. At 18, Jade met 23-year-old Marine Todd Marshall. For the first time in her life, she felt a sense of peace with him. He was the home she had been seeking for her 18 years of existence. Young, in love, and naive, they ran off and eloped. The marriage was challenging, but their love for one another allowed them to overcome the obstacles life dealt them. It took them many years of learning how to navigate marriage but they became a team.
At the age of 25, Jade had a man harassing and stalking her for months. The police refused to do anything about it, and the stalker did not take Todd's threats seriously. Jade had enough and one day snapped. She drove to his home, broke into his house, and sat on the couch waiting on him with one of his golf club until he got home from work, then proceeded to beat the ever-living shit out of him. She was convicted of battery with a dangerous weapon.
She spent the next five years serving time in North Central Correctional Institution. During this time, her relationship with Todd began to suffer. Todd was mad that his wife had taken matters into her own hands without consulting him and jeopardizing their marriage being away for so long. The letters and phone calls from Todd became scarce as the years went by. Todd became a part of the Warlock Motorcycle Club and she began to not recognize the man she was once married to. Feeling hurt, abandoned, and not knowing how to deal with her emotions, she began fighting in prison to feel something.
After her release, she moved back in with Todd and began to rebuild her life. Todd had found refuge from his anger by working his way up to President of the Warlock Motorcycle Club. Jade was having to learn what rules to follow as the Ole Lady of an MC President all while juggling running a gentleman's club. She worked hard and eventually bought the club devoting her life to it at the expense of her marriage. The couple found themselves spending less time together and the fighting more than ever. In June 2022, they decided to legally separate. In September 2022, they were officially divorced.
At thirty-one years old Jade was on her own for the first time. She reached out to her best friend, Britney Bourgeois, to help her get her back on her feet. The two sat down and decided to go into business together. Jade, knowing how to run a successful business, came up with the idea of running a themed bar. The French Laundry was born, a campy Parisian bar in the heart of Vinewood. She was working hard at making her dream a reality and moving on with her life after heartbreak.
Jade started working at Salieri's bar where she met Salvatore Tugelbend. They were friends for a long time until a relationship blossomed. They married April 23, 2023.
