This month marks one year since UnironicallyAverage and myself officially took over ownership of NewDay. We've dealt with so much - the quality of roleplay issues that were plaguing us (and to an extent we are still addressing) as well as things like Cfx and Tebex to ensure the server can run as smoothly as possible and be the roleplay environment that we and the Management team envision. We hope that the last 12 months have been an upward trend in player satisfaction - we have gradually seen player numbers stabilize and even increase. We have pushed our developers to have a new energy and passion to keep content coming out that keeps the server fresh while also maintaining the NewDay feel.
We'd like to thank everyone for their support and their trust in us to keep this a thriving FiveM community!
We all put a lot into our characters - the sense of accomplishment that comes from putting in a lot of work is a great feeling. On the opposite side of the coin, losing something that the character holds dear can cause very strong feelings of disappointment and anger. One thing I want everyone to remember as you play out your characters -things happen to them both good and bad, and that's ultimately all in the game. Whether you get robbed of a special collectible, lose a friend to a vicious rumor, or get fired from a job - at the end of the day your story will continue; it's all about how you move forward from there. For most people playing GTARP; your character is the main character of the story you engage in - but looking at the community as a whole - we are all equal players and sometimes it's hard to remember that. You may be just as much of a character in someone else's story as they are in yours.
One of the most important things we have been trying to encourage within the playerbase is to remember to keep things In Character. We have had a lot of feedback over the years that Management have gotten involved in certain aspects of roleplay, which has often left a sour taste in players' mouths. There may be times when we will be brought in to look at certain situations but we want to we want to ensure that we don't involve ourselves in matters that can, and should, be handled IC. The times that we step in as Management are heavily weighed against letting things roll as they are in game - you'll mostly see Management involved with only higher level department changes and things that affect large groups of people or the server overall.
Hello everyone! The administration team has a couple of updates and general reminders for the community. As always, we appreciate the community's awareness and understanding of the rules and guidelines that ensure a fair play space for all.
Videos & Player Reports: We'd like to remind the community that video evidence is highly needed when handling both player reports, and tickets regarding player activity. There is always three sides to a story, and we require video evidence when possible to ensure accurate verdicts are being passed down when reviewing situations. We'd also like to thank the community for its patience on reviewing player reports - we are working to get the report queue brought down. As a note, PRs are reviewed in the order they are received. Some PRs take longer than others due to the complicated nature of some scenarios, and we do not allow those conflicted or involved in the reports to participate in the review - at times this means we don't have as many eyes on it as normal.
Crime Near Restarts: Since the start of the year, we've noticed an uptick in players committing crime near the server restarts (2am/2pm EST). As a reminder, players cannot start any crime 15 minutes before a restart or directly after a restart completes. Heists, thefts or burglaries must wait 30 minutes after a restart completes. For more information, see the Rules & Guidelines.
Job Abuse/Paycheck Farming: We've seen an uptick in job abuse & paycheck farming - players should not be clocked into a business they are not actively contributing to. We ask players to use their best judgment when clocked into a business, and off their registered premises. Excessive abuse of the system can result in business UBI being removed. If you have questions, please open a ticket.
A.I Misuse: We all know Artificial Intelligence is here to stay. The admin team would like to remind players of our AI guidelines and expectations when it comes to AI usage to ensure a fair and realistic environment remains maintained.
OOC (Out-Of-Character Chat) Misuse: Over the past few weeks, we've noticed a lot of /OOC use. We'd like to remind the community that OOC should only be used in emergencies or during roleplay that requires OOC conversations. There should not be general conversations being had in the OOC chat. Thank you!
We're glad to see people enjoying our latest projects released - from the big to clothing updates and fishing overhauls to the smaller projects such as expansion of our furniture catalog, new emotes, and the consistent trickle new vehicles into the server.
We'd like to remind people that developer apps are open - we are always looking for developers interesting in contributing to NewDay. We are especially interested in experienced mapping and code devs. If you are interested or knows someone who is, go ahead and fill out an application here.
As you all know our Clothing Rehaul finally hit the live server which was the result of a 5-6 month effort. Our team is currently tracking all issues that are being reported, and we are working on fixes for the most important things such as;
We also have a personal message from one of our clothing developers! From @Ekaterina Morozova :
Hey everyone! I am one of the new clothing devs for the server, and as a longtime player who is very passionate about fashion, it's been an absolute blast for me to work on the clothing update. It's something I always wished I could do back when I was just playing on NDRP. It truly warms my heart to see everyone putting together all the new cool outfits for their characters, experiment with different pieces, and find their new favourite items in the updated catalogue. Thank you all so much for being so supportive and for loving the clothing team's work. I hope to keep delivering new stuff bit by bit, and continuing to fix some of the stuff that isn't quite perfect yet.
From Willow Clarkson, Chief Justive of the San Andreas Judiciary
I'm happy to have been a part of the Judiciary for as long as I have here. It's been a lot of fun both in character and out of character and I hope to keep that trend going.
My goal overall is to make court RP as approachable and balanced as possible for the server and encourage more to join in the legal RP no matter what their role may be. I know there will be rulings that some won't like or understand, that's only natural as we aren't real judges or lawyers and sometimes mistakes happen both on an IC and OOC level. I just hope everyone can keep it all IC and stay positive and know that there are checks and balances in place to make sure no ruling ever harms the overall health of our lovely city.
Some of these checks and balances are two lovely Federal Judges to assist us with appeals and judicial reviews. Others come in the form of encouraging these appeals to take place in the first place, since they are the absolute best way to fight any issues that come up during trial or rulings. We judges actually very much enjoy the RP of appeals and are happy to see them pop onto our desk.
With that all said, I look forward to seeing what fun court cases you have to bring to the table!
From Viv Chopper, San Andreas Parks Department
The last couple of months within the San Andreas Parks Department have been busy, and I wanted to share a few updates on what we've been working on behind the scenes. Around a month ago, we welcomed in a new round of Parks Employees, with a handful currently towards the end of their training. It's been great seeing newer members already getting involved with the community through events and interactions while on shift.
One of the highlights of this hiring round has been seeing existing members step up to help newer employees settle in. Whether it's helping with training, answering questions or just making people feel welcome, that support system has always been one of the strongest parts of SAPD. To everybody who has helped support our newer employees this round, whether by supporting them internally or by attending and supporting the events they’ve hosted; thank you!
At the same time, our newest round of Rangers have been with us for around three and a half months. It's been great watching them grow into their roles and become familiar faces within the community. As we move into June, we'll be beginning to prepare for the next Ranger hiring round and start reviewing applications again soon. If you're interested and haven't already, please put in an application with Amanda at the Ranger Station in Paleto!
Outside of recruitment, we're also looking to put focus into community events moving forward. With June being Pride Month, the Parks Department remains proud allies of the LGBTQ+ community, and we're currently planning a Pride-themed event for the community to come together and enjoy. More details will be shared once plans are finalised.
As always, thank you to everybody who continues supporting the San Andreas Parks Department. Whether you're a member of SAPD, someone who regularly interacts with us, or someone interested in joining in the future, we genuinely appreciate the support and are excited for everything still to come over the next few months.
Oh, also... Owl Scouts anyone? soontm
From Chris Jackson, San Andrea Flight Authority
The San Andreas Flight Authority has been working with the state representatives to update the outdated portions of the flight regulations. We have also been working on training up more check pilots and ground crew to have more coverage for your aviation rp needs. We have a couple new trainers and managers here to help in those regards.
If you guys have something you want to do event wise or fun RP story wise and want to use the airports or want to get aircraft involved feel free to reach out to us. We love helping out with that stuff.
As always we are always looking for more people to get into SAFA and aviation RP, so if you are interested feel free to reach out or apply! Like many others we now have an IC way of applying for work at SAFA. The NPC that handles applications resides in the Jack Callow Hangar at LSIA next to the aircraft rental guy.
From LEO High Command, San Andreas State Police
Applications to join the San Andreas State Police remain open. If you are interested in trying something different or experiencing the law enforcement side of roleplay here in NewDay, we encourage you to apply! They have not been moved in character and are still located here on the forums. Please make sure you have read the requirements and answer each question thoroughly before submitting your application! If for whatever reason you need to edit your application after it has been submitted, please open a ticket in the NDRP Discord and ask to speak with someone about it.
Our Community Outreach Program hosted a car wash event last month and wants to say thank you to everyone who attended! We hope you had a good time and that we will see you at our future events!
We have recently hired on a new batch of cadets, so be on the lookout for them over the coming weeks!
Commissioner Theresa Indigo has finally entered her well-deserved retirement and is happily working on her family farm. We wish her the best and are thankful for the time she dedicated to building up the department. Thank you to everyone who continues to support and interact with our department on a day-to-day basis!
From SAFR High Command, San Andreas Fire Rescue
Fire Rescue Applications are currently closed, but we plan to reopen them in late July or early August - once our current round of trainees completes the program.
We’d also like to remind the community that we are here to support your roleplay, and help tell your characters story. We encourage folks to ask us questions about medRP - If you ever have questions about the RP, feel free to pop in a /ooc message!
We'd like to thank everyone for their support and their trust in us to keep this a thriving FiveM community!
