Nellya Auclair was born in Montreal into a family that seemed mostly normal at first glance. She attended a private school and never lacked for anything. Her father, Pierre Auclair, was loving and had an overprotective side. Her mother, Andrée, died during her childhood. Despite questioning her father all the time, the best answer Nellya received about her mother's death was that she had died in a car crash during a snowstorm when she was 4 years old. Nellya rarely had the right to visit or receive friends, unless these were approved by her father, which made the children of the Burn family, a good friend of her father, her only regular visitors and her only true confidants. . To most people, Nellya's life seemed normal for a well-off family, however, she often encountered bizarre situations that her father struggled to explain. Often she would enter her home over whispered discussions between several strangers and her father. She quickly learned not to ask questions and to remain silent. Growing up, her curiosity led her to sometimes spy on certain gatherings. She heard about executions, drug deals, and once she even heard her mother's name being spoken followed by a temper tantrum from her father. She wasn't dumb and quickly understood as she grew up that her father was involved in a criminal organization without knowing the precise details.

Annoyed by her father's overprotection, Nellya snuck away to go to a concert one night but was abducted by a group. Luckily, for her, the Burn Family (Rey, Freya, Ethan, Bonnie Burn, and Billy Burn) saw her getting taken away and came to her rescue. After The Burns killed the group, Nellya and the Burn Family noticed that they were federal agents trying to drag her away from her family's criminal activities and into a protection program. Afraid, they all fled to the American border where the Burn Family was being set up by their own father over a drug deal and after taking revenge on their own father, they took Nellya with them to be on the run for over a year.

Nellya and the Burn Family are now established in Los Santos where they live in fear of getting caught. Nellya, although very friendly and protective, is also very cautious and have a hard time opening up completely. She was welcomed very early on as a receptionist at River City Customs where she is now general manager. She also took several jobs and keeps busy while trying to clear out the Burn Family name and her own.

Affiliations

• Rey Burn - They've known each other since they were kids, from the Burn Family she's always felt the most comfortable around him. Shortly after arriving to Los Santos, they confessed their life-long love to each other.
• Macy Harvelle - Macy is one of the rare people she knew from Montreal where they briefly went to school together. They are very close although living two completely different styles of life.
• Merlin Savage - They've met early on in the city before Merlin became a police officer and bonded quickly while helping each other out. Although they are both very busy people, they try to stay in touch (they jokingly refer to each others as pen pals). Nellya becomes very protective over Merlin and often warns people not to harm him intentionally.
• Jericho Delmonta - Knowing him from The House of Cards, they became very close and caring over each others. She feels she can tell him everything and knows he will be there for her, whatever the situation. He's also one of the rare people that knows the full extend of her past.
• Poppy Hills - They met while working for Shuffle Nightclub and Mount Zonah Medical Center. Nellya feels it's easy to be around Poppy and doesn't need to wear a mask and is a breathe of fresh air. Nellya is slowly opening up to Poppy as their friendship blossoms stronger.
• River City Customs - Franky Manbroni and Frank Gilbani gave Nellya her first job in the city despite her tell them she didn't knew how to do anything or never had a job in her life. She feels very grateful to both of them and cares a lot of the business. While not wanting to be involve in the criminal part of RCC, she knows about it and helps trying to keep the legal front of the business. This makes her respected by the various people hanging out around the shop.
• Ex-Hearts - The name of the group is currently unknown, but after the fall of The House of Cards, most of the "Heart" suite decided to keep together and are working on finding themselves and their goals. They consider each others family.
