Born Anna Aiko Visser to parents Jacob Visser (father) and Chiharu Yamada (mother) in Rotterdam, Netherlands, the family immigrated to Canada when she was three years old. Anna spent most of her childhood reading books and performing at home science experiments.
Childhood was volatile as her father was a corrupt
Law Enforcement officer involved with the drug trade. At age twelve, Anna became addicted to narcotics. When she was sixteen her father was shot and killed. That same year Anna was sent to a juvenile detention centre and her record remains undisclosed to the public due to her being a minor at the time.
While in rehabilitation, Anna began her recovery from addiction and focused on education, with a keen interest in psychology and medicine. Encouraged by her social worker, Robert McNeal, Anna completed her GED and eventually had her record expunged.
During this time she introduced Robert to her mother Chiharu. They married and Anna took on her stepfather’s last name, McNeal. When Robert fully adopted Anna, she changed her first name to Reeta, which means “pearl”.
Reeta completed a streamlined Bachelor of Psychology and Masters/Medical Degree at the University of Amsterdam. She later wrote her Netherlands/USA reciprocity exam and completed her medical residency at Stanford University.
Arriving in Los Santos, Reeta took a job as a fisherman at Del Perro pier. It was there she made connections with Bartholomew Harington who offered her a position with the
Pillbox Cartel as a member of their Research & Development team. With a passion for safe supply and a desire to curb the overdose crisis, Reeta joined the cartel after being promised that any narcotics they produced would not be stepped on with dangerous substances such as fentanyl.
After the R&D team dissolved, Reeta took a position at Mount Zonah Medical Center as a Supervisor in the Psychology Department. Holding a strong belief that mental health should be available to anyone regardless of their affiliation, she was able to treat her patients without bias, even those from an enemy faction. During this time Reeta managed the legal
Businesses of the Cartel as their Business Advisor.
Retiring from her position at Mount Zonah, Dr. McNeal decided to focus solely on her work with Pillbox Cartel, relinquishing her legal status and taking the position of Underboss. Eventually, her accessibility to hard narcotics led her into a severe relapse and she realized if she didn't get clean she would end up overdosing like her mother.
Upon professional advice, Reeta checked herself into Parsons Rehabilitation Centre to detox and start the road to recovery all over again. While Reeta is sober from hard drugs old habits die hard and she still believes in safe supply for those who wish to partake. She occasionally visits Los Santos to visit her platonic life-partner Emile Chaton and other members of the cartel.
