Her backstory begins in a moderately sized town at near the base of the Rocky Mountains called Bridgeshaw, Colorado. She is the daughter of Kaya Fox, and Jordan McKay. She is the middle child of the pair, her older sister being Zyra Fox (a violin prodigy) and her younger sister being Kora Fox. Kaya Fox is a Sheriff's Deputy for Bridgeshaw's Sheriff's Department. Her mother, Jordan, is a doctor at the emergency room of Bridgeshaw Memorial. Sara's roots are deeply planted in both Native American and Irish culture. Kaya is from a native tribe, and Jordan moved over from Ireland when she was eight years old. The Fox family has a ranch that spans back nine generations, the place where Sara spent every summer as she was growing up, eventually getting a job there when she turned fifteen. The McKay side of the family are a more sorted lot, their roots firmly planted in the criminal underworld in Ireland. They are a crime family in Galway. Jordan is the heiress to the McKay clan.
Sara's childhood was one that nurtured growth and knowledge. She was taught the ways of ranch living, of how to survive, along with academics from the local public school. Throughout her school years she held a B+ average in school. Not overachieving, like her sisters Zyra and Kora, but not underachieving either. She fell in love with sports and activities at a young age, leading a very active lifestyle outdoors. Fishing in the spring, summer, and fall with her family and going on camping trips. In the winters snow boarding and skiing. When she was in junior high she joined the soccer team, and did that until moving onto high school. Her high school sports included field hockey and boxing. This is when she began to follow a strict workout routine in the mornings. Running five miles, doing several sets of pushups and sit-ups, along with sets of knee highs, Russian twists, pull ups, and bench presses (she can press over 250lbs).
Throughout growing up she was enamored with her parents' line of work, the
Law Enforcement and the medical aspect of things. Because of this she wanted to follow in their footsteps. After graduating high school she pursued a different path from her parents, and began taking the steps to become a firefighter. She enrolled at the local college, and took their EMT course, and became certified as an Emergency Medical Technician. After receiving her certification she worked for a private ambulance company while attending the fire academy. Once she graduated from the fire academy she enlisted in the local collage, and got her bachelor's in fire science while continuing her work for the private ambulance company. By the time her training and education was completed she was twenty-three. She began to volunteer as a firefighter for the local firehouse, eventually securing herself an actual job there.
At the age of twenty-six Sara relocated to a small city on the west coast of the mainland, near San Andreas. Here is where she met her wife, whom was the city's police chief at the time. It was Tyler who convinced her to apply to the police academy to see if she would get in. Sara sent in her application, and was accepted. After undergoing twenty-four weeks of training, and receiving education, Sara graduated from the police academy as a cadet. After a month she earned herself a promotion to officer because of her hard-work and dedication. Eventually she worked her way up through the ranks and climbed to senior officer. When her wife (the chief of police) became pregnant she stepped down to allow a new chief to take her place. The new chief of police rubbed Sara the wrong way, and the two did not get along. This lead her to transferring to the local county Sheriff's department where she would stay a senior deputy for nearly a year. Once their twins were born Sara no longer wanted to continue her line of work as a police officer, because she didn't want the Sheriff having to go to her house one night and break the news to her kids and wife that she wasn't coming home. So Sara hung up her vest and badge.
After three to four years of not being on the force Sara has gotten the itch to return to emergency services. She sent in an application to the San Andreas Fire & Rescue Department, and aced her interview with them. She was accepted as a trainee, and went through academy. Sara excelled through the probationary phase, and made it to EMT. From there she worked her way up to advanced EMT. She recently acquired her firefighting certification, and became a junior firefighter, and has now set her sights on becoming a paramedic. Having several patients in her care that needed a DART has inspired her to want to increase her scope of medical practice.
