Tara comes from a spoiled life: a rich, single father that provided for her every needs and wants after they divorced when she was 10 years old. Maybe her dad was trying to buy her love while he was busy running his tech company ("he does something with computers"), but either way, she was happy being able to live her life without a care in the world.

During school, she tried just enough to pass in most things, knowing she'd be fine as long as she graduated; however, as a surprise to many, she is a math-lover, and she would always get the top marks in her math classes. Some called her lazy, but when it came to something she wanted or loved, she would stop at nothing to get it. Tara lived her high school life as the popular girl who partied hard and coasted through school, a typical "plastic" (a la Mean Girls). After graduation, she had no plans for her life, but at her father's suggestion, she decided to try college.

College wasn't very different for Tara. She skipped classes, partied, and just focused on fun. After all, what's the point of college anyway? After a couple unsuccessful years in college ("Oh well, I'll just move back home with daddy!") she was ready to come back home to keep living her best life, all with the comfort of her dad's cash blanket.

However, her father had had enough. He said he was tired of her spending his money and being a spoiled brat. She protested and tried to get him to change his mind, but it was too late. She furiously left her home, with nothing but some of her belongings, looking for a fresh start. After looking for a place to run away to, she decided on Los Santos. On her way to sunshine, the beach, and now all on her own for the first time ever, she stepped on a plane headed for Los Santos.
